Apple’s Smartphone Once Again Offers Top Customer Satisfaction

Surveying 7,300 smartphone owners between July and December 2010, J.D. Power and Associates concludes that customers are most satisfied with Apple's iPhone than any other smartphone on the market.

Apple's latest win marks the fifth year in which it beats all other smartphone makers to top position. In the study '2011 US Wireless Smartphone Customer Satisfaction Study,' Apple secures a customer satisfaction rating of 795 out of 1,000 points. This is a slight slip from previous year's 800 points. Motorola and HTC follow in the second and third positions with 763 points and 762 points, respectively. They too recorded higher satisfaction rates for their smartphones in 2010, when their statistics stood at 791 and 781 points respectively.

J.D. Power and Associates says that respondents based their opinions on physical design, ease of operation, operating system, features, and battery efficiency. Smartphone customer satisfaction recorded higher at 783 points among those using social networks on their smartphones, compared to 761 in those who did not.
