Out of Office Software Allows Doctors to Make Mobile Diagnosis

When doctors have to be out of the office software now gives them the option to work on the road, and actually diagnose patients via their mobile devices. The FDA has just given the OK to a new app that would allow the results from MRI and similar scans to be shown on Apple iPhones and iPad. And when doctors are at the patient's bedside, they can use the app to not only make a treatment decision but to help explain to the patient what they can do.

The app is produced by MIM Software Inc in Cleveland, and it does come with some restrictions. Doctors are only allowed to use it when they are away from the office and can't get to t heir own computers. It is only approved for viewing and diagnosis of MRI, CT, and PET scans, not other forms of imaging including X-rays.
